Keyboard Shortcuts

The H5mag 26 editor supports multiple keyboard shortcuts, here you'll find an overview of the supported combinations:

Global

• Cmd/Ctrl+Z: Undo

• Cmd/Ctrl+Y: Redo
• Cmd/Ctrl+S: Save article
• Ctrl+Space: Preview article
• Ctrl+Shift+Space: Preview article in a new window
• Cmd/Ctrl+M: Create an article template
• Shift+?: Open keyboard shortcuts
• Shift+Alt/Option+?: Open support
• Meta+,: Open edition settings
• Meta+.: Toggle publication settings

Search

• Cmd/Ctrl+F: Open and focus AreaTree search
• Cmd/Ctrl+G: Focus search and activate the next result
• Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+G: Focus search and activate the previous result
• Cmd/Ctrl+F3: Open and focus AreaTree search

Area editing

• Cmd/Ctrl+C: Copy selected areas
• Cmd/Ctrl+X: Cut selected areas
• Cmd/Ctrl+V: Paste into the selected area, or the article root when nothing is selected
• Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+V: Paste without styles
• Ctrl+Meta+Shift+V: Paste matching clipboard content into all selected areas
• Cmd/Ctrl+D: Duplicate selected areas
• Cmd/Ctrl+H: Toggle visibility of selected areas
• Cmd/Ctrl+Alt/Option+C: Copy styles
• Cmd/Ctrl+Alt/Option+V: Paste styles

• Delete: Delete selected areas

Canvas

• Enter: Edit the selected text or heading area
• Escape: Close the active text editor; otherwise select the common parent
• Shift or Cmd/Ctrl (hold): Enable additive area selection

AreaTree

• ArrowUp: Select previous visible area
• ArrowDown: Select next visible area
• ArrowRight: Expand the selected area or select its first child
• ArrowLeft: Collapse the selected area or select its parent
• Cmd/Ctrl+ArrowUp: Select previous visible area from outside the AreaTree
• Cmd/Ctrl+ArrowDown: Select next visible area from outside the AreaTree
• Cmd/Ctrl+ArrowRight: Expand the selected area or select its first child

• Escape: Close text editing while keeping the area selected
• ArrowDown at the end: Edit the next text/heading sibling
• ArrowUp at the beginning: Edit the previous text/heading sibling
• Option+Space: Insert a non-breaking space on macOS
• Ctrl+Shift+Space: Insert a non-breaking space on Windows and Linux
• Alt/Option+-: Insert a non-breaking hyphen
• Ctrl+-: Insert a soft hyphen

• Enter: Commit value
• ArrowUp: Increase by 1
• ArrowDown: Decrease by 1
